Answer to Cancer was started over 15 years ago by a group of Grand Harbor members. We have grown to be one of the largest donors to the Scully-Welsh Cancer Center at the Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital with over $1,100,000 in donations to date. Each year, the Answer to Cancer committee chooses state-of-the-art programs or products to sponsor for the patients being treated at Scully – Welsh. Money raised is directed by the Answer to Cancer Board to the specific programs at Scully-Welsh.
The 2023 ATC fundraiser was held on March 20, 2023 - we raised over $102,000 thanks to the generous donations of our Grand Harbor community. The ATC committee along with the Cleveland Clinic Indian River Foundation and Dr. Tousimis, the Medical Director of the Scully Welsh Cancer Center, have directed the funds to be applied to 3 programs - a food cart to provide nutrition to patients receiving infusion therapy, handheld ultrasound devices for faster diagnosis and continuing support of the Integrative Medicine program . These meet the mission of Answer to Cancer which is to assist Scully Welsh in providing exceptional tender loving care to cancer patients and their families.
